Accessibility statement

Last updated:

At Troupia we believe everyone should be able to use our service on their own, comfortably and with dignity, including people with disabilities. We work continuously to keep the website and the product accessible.

The standard we follow

We make www.troupia.com and the Troupia product accessible in line with:

  • the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, in particular regulation 35 and its sub-regulations (internet services);
  • Israeli Standard IS 5568 Part 1, "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines", at level AA, which is based on the W3C WCAG guidelines. We also work towards WCAG 2.2 level AA.

What has been made accessible on the public website

  • Full keyboard navigation: every menu, link, button and form can be reached with Tab. The main menu and the mobile menu open with Enter and close with Esc, and focus returns to the button that opened them.
  • Visible focus: every element that takes focus shows a clear outline.
  • A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page.
  • Semantic structure: headings follow a hierarchy, page regions are marked (header, navigation, main content, footer), and every page declares its language and writing direction (Hebrew and Arabic right to left).
  • Text alternatives: images that carry information are described, and decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
  • Forms: every field has a label.
  • Colour contrast at level AA between text and background.
  • Zoom: the view can be enlarged to 200% and beyond without losing content and without the page scrolling sideways.
  • Motion: animations stop when the operating system is set to "reduce motion". The homepage and the Grow & Promote plugin page have a button that pauses every demo that moves by itself, and the choice is remembered.
  • Target size: links in the footer and the menus are at least 24 pixels tall.
  • The site does not use an accessibility overlay ("widget"). Accessibility is built into the code itself.

How the site was tested

The site was tested in a current version of Chrome, at desktop and phone sizes: automated testing with axe-core, keyboard navigation, and layout at 320 pixels wide (equivalent to 400% zoom). It is built to HTML and WAI-ARIA standards so that it also works in Edge, Firefox and Safari and with screen readers.

A manual test with the NVDA and VoiceOver screen readers has not been done yet. We will update this page when it is.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts may not be fully accessible yet. These are the gaps we know of today:

  • The product itself, after sign-in, has not had a full accessibility audit yet.
  • The blog and docs pages show a small decorative animation (three dots) without a pause button. It stops when the operating system is set to "reduce motion".
  • Content uploaded by users or third parties (for example files a user uploads) is not fully under our control. We provide the tools to make it accessible, such as a text-alternative field.
  • Older PDF documents, if any, will be made accessible on request.
